PY 23500 - Creativity as an Expression of Healing and Growth

(4) This course provides an introduction to accessing, understanding, and using the creative process for self-understanding. Students will examine theories and research in the field, and will also be encouraged to express their own perspectives through the use of story, visual art, drama, music, or other pursuits as a way of exploring the course material. The theory and practice of expressive therapies is explored; specific emphasis area for the course varies by instructor. Satisfies SI Social/Behavioral Scientific Inquiry for Foundational Studies.

  Self-Understanding elective for PY Major Studies. Offered as needed.
