ED 61600 - Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment: K-6 Elementary


(3) The primary focus of this course will be the integration of reading, language arts, science, mathematics, social studies, health, physical education, art, and music in both teaching and learning contexts in K-6 Elementary classrooms. Attention will also be paid to the history and trends that have affected the field of elementary education, especially as it relates to AK and teaching through culture, including criteria for selecting appropriate teaching strategies and resources, and appropriate assessments. Pre-service teachers will develop guidelines and assessments for analyzing and evaluating K-6 Elementary materials, resources and teaching modalities. A 30-hour practicum can include some virtual experiences. A field placement will require students to assist and teach in a K-6 Elementary classroom. Offered Fall.
