At the end of German I, students will be able to engage in light conversation about a variety of topics in the present tense. German II builds on the foundation of first course, emphasizing verbal communication in the present and past tense, light reading, and active participation on a variety of relevant topics of day-to-day life. Accompanying writing and listening exercises and activities continue to deepen the language learning process. Adapted German readers may be included for enhancement of reading comprehension and an introduction to German literature. In both courses students are required to do research for cultural projects regarding the history and geography of German speaking countries. Offered as needed.
