COMM 10004 - Public Speaking (4) The course emphasizes practice and improvement of communications skills for public presentation purposes, as well as historical and current considerations regarding public address. Students develop foundational understandings of communication theory, rhetorical studies, and attributes of historically significant speeches. Students development presentations for a range of purposes and audiences, from topic choice to delivery, with attention to the ethics of public address, information literacy, and use of current technologies and media. Satisfies EC Presentation & Media Literacy for Foundational Studies. Offered Fall/Spring.
