PY 23000 - Psychology of Spirituality and Religion (4) This course provides an introduction to the psychology of the spiritual and religious life of the individual. Students will examine theories and research in the field, especially regarding the nature of religion and spirituality, religious socialization, religious and spiritual experience, morality and values, attitudes and outlook on life, the role of religion and spirituality in coping and adjustment as well as mental health and counseling, and the experience and expression of spirituality and religion across the life span. Satisfies SI Social/Behavioral Scientific Inquiry for Foundational Studies. Offered Spring.
