Alaska Native Executive Leadership Program Certificate

The Alaska Native Executive Leadership Program (ANELP) Certificate is offered by APU in partnership with Afognak Native Corporation, The Aleut Corporation, CIRI, Chugach Alaska Corporation, and Bristol Bay Native Corporation. The curriculum represents relevant, executive leadership development, co-designed to enhance and grow the capacity of future Alaska Native leaders. ANELP is open to leaders from all Alaska Native Corporations and related organizations. ANELP admits students in the Fall semester only.

Admissions

The application and admissions process for the ANELP includes:

  1. ANELP Graduate Certificate application for admission
  2. 500 word statement of interest describing your career goals and why ANELP will help you accomplish them
  3. Current resume demonstrating appropriate managerial experience
  4. ANELP Executive Sponsorship
  5. ANELP Financial Agreement
  6. Official transcript(s) from all postsecondary institutions, if applicable (please see general requirements for graduate studies at APU for additional information regarding the submission of official transcripts)

Prerequisites

Successful applicants will have the following minimum pre-requisite qualifications:

  1. Minimum of three years managerial level or above work experience
  2. Currently holds a leadership position
  3. Undergraduate degree and/or 10 years of progressive work experience

Completion Requirement


In addition to successfully completing required ANELP coursework in Academic Good Standing (please refer to the Academic Standings section of the APU Catalog), participants must complete the ANELP Individual Development Plan and the Proof of Completion Form prior to receiving the Certificate. Both forms are distributed by the Director of Corporate Programs at the beginning of the program.  The Individual Development Plan is completed throughout the program on a schedule determined by the Sponsoring Corporation.  The Proof of Completion must be completed and signed by the student and their mentor and submitted to the Director of Corporate Programs no later than May 15.
