The Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Accounting prepares students for entry level positions in the accounting field. In addition to the general university requirements the AA students must complete courses in bookkeeping, economics, and foundations of business. The degree is offered completely online and in the evening for the convenience of our adult student population. The AA degree in Accounting is appropriate for those entering the accounting profession, or those who work in the accounting field but desire to upgrade their skills. It is also an appropriate option for those students with less than 60 transfer credits who wish to obtain a bachelors degree. The associate degree requirements may be applied toward a Bachelor degree. Students completing an Associates of Arts degree who are interested in a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management, Accounting, Human Services, or Health Services Administration may enroll in the Adult Undergraduate Program after completing the requirements for the Associates of Arts degree. Students must reapply and meet admissions standards to be admitted into the Adult Undergraduate Program. In this event, students must also meet the employment requirement and take additional General University courses (GURs) to meet the Bachelor of Arts degree requirements.
