Environmental Science, B.S.

The B.S. in Environmental Science allow you to focus on scientific approaches to assessing and solving environmental questions and problems by providing solid conceptual foundations and extensive real-world applications.  The degree includes coursework in the natural sciences policy, mathematics, and statistics, as well as practicum, research methods, and a culminating senior project. This degree is especially useful for students intending to pursue graduate study in the environmental sciences or in related fields.  Many ES graduates also go on to careers in environmental consulting or working with government agencies or non-governmental organizations. Environmental science majors must complete the Major Studies and specify an area of concentration in one of the following:  Biological Science or General Environmental Science.


As a graduate, you will earn a Bachelor of Science degree with demonstrated achievement in APU’s Essential Competencies:  Effective Communication; Critical Thinking; Cultural & Historical Perspective; Scientific Inquiry; and Ethical Engagement.

  • Students are encouraged to expand on Enviromental Science concentration options, take a minor, or undertake an Eco League exchange to distinguish their program of study.

Environmental Science Concentration Areas


Concentrations for Environmental Science include Biological Science or General Environmental Science. Students select 16 credits to complete the concentration.
