ANGV 30100 - Alaska Native Rights & the Law (4) This course examines the legal history related to land and resources traditionally held by Alaska Native Peoples. Particular attention is paid to subsistence rights, the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, and the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act. Beyond basic examination of natural resource law specific to Alaska, students consider and generate understandings of co-management agreements that honor traditional, tribal, and regional claims. Prerequisite: ANGV 20100 Alaska Native Governance Systems, WRIT 20100 and CRIT 13300 or CRIT 23300 Offered: Fall every other year.
