The B.A. in Environmental Studies (ENVS) provides an interdisciplinary major for students interested in environmental problem solving. The major emphasizes diverse perspectives and approaches to understanding society and human impact on the natural world. Environmental Studies majors develop basic competencies in the sciences, humanities, policy, and practice dimensions of environmental understanding. This flexible major engages material from diverse intellectual traditions across the Institute of Culture and Environment, along with community-based and applied learning to foster an integrated understanding of contemporary environmental problems.
