The academic calendar holds all important registration dates that are used in the establishment of enrollment and the calculation of tuition and fees. Timely registration is important for determining the amount of financial aid funds available and the remaining amount due on the student account. Verified enrollment on the census date determines financial aid funding available and applicable adjustments to the student account. Verified enrollment could be a combination full, block, session and or modules.
There is no provision to add a class in one of the above categories after the census date has passed.
The academic calendar allows ample time for students, staff and faculty to address enrollment and attendance issues for each category.
Admission Application Fees
The application fee for the priority admission deadline is $25. The application fee for the late admission deadline is $50.

Billing Holds and Account Fees
By registering for classes, the student agrees to pay all account charges in full by the due dates established by the university. Charges may include but are not limited to tuition and fees, housing and meal plan charges, disciplinary fines and collection fees.
APU does not send out student billing statements; all student account information is available via the student portal.
Accounts not paid by the due dates may be assessed late fees and account holds which restrict the student’s record, prohibiting future registration and transcript or diploma receipt until the debt is satisfied.
Please note accounts are also put on hold for delinquent library fines owed to University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) since the Consortium Library is jointly owned by APU and UAA.
A late fee of $50 per month (up to a maximum of $250) will be assessed on any unpaid balance remaining after the payment due date for which payment arrangements have not been made.
A service fee of $25 will be charged for a check not honored (NSF) by the bank.
Past-Due Accounts/Collection
Alaska Pacific University will make reasonable attempts to collect past due charges. Delinquent accounts may be referred to a commercial collection agency and may be reported to national credit bureaus. All costs, expenses and fees including, but not limited to, attorney fees, court costs, collection costs and other out-of-pocket expenses incurred by the university in collection or attempting to collect a past-due account are the responsibility of the student and will be charged to the student’s account. By registering for classes, a student agrees to pay tuition and other charges and fees as well as any fees associated with collection.
Tuition Refund Policy
Tuition refunds are based on the Course Add/Drop/Withdrawal Policy or Complete Withdrawal Policy, whichever applies. See the Registration and Course Delivery section of the University Catalog. Tuition refunds are based upon the date the student submits their withdrawal notice to the Registrar’s Office. Fees are not refundable except when a course is canceled by the university.
100% Refund No later than midnight of the census date applicable to the enrollment period.
50% Refund No later than midnight of the fifth business day after the census date applicable to the period of enrollment.
0% Refund After midnight of the fifth business day after the census date applicable to the period of enrollment.
Students who receive federal or state financial aid are subject to the federal or state refund regulations and should consult with the Financial Aid office prior to add/drop/withdrawal. Reduction in credits may require an adjustment of the Pell Grant and or other federal aid. When a student completely withdraws from the university and has received federal or state financial aid, the school is required to apply a withdrawal calculation based on federal and or state laws.
