PY 67004 - Psychological Trauma (2) This introductory class provides the student with a comprehensive exploration of the psychological trauma field, including the history and current theories in the field, the nature of psychological trauma, and how trauma affects individuals and systems. This class will review the cognitive, affective, behavioral, neurological sequelae associated with trauma. Also included in this class is the exploration of the professionals response to trauma, vicarious traumatization, comorbid disorders, ethical practice, and trauma-informed treatment issues. Finally, students have the chance to survey evidence-based practices in the trauma field. Prerequisite: Graduate level standing.
