LS 20400 - Summer Classics Seminar (4) Students read and debate the significance of classic texts, as well as defining what constitutes a ‘classic’. Each seminar is focused around a theme or genre, such as historical fiction, the journey quest, representation, utopia, tragedy, etc. Readings are identified before the seminar commences, chosen by students and instructors. Students are expected to keep a reading journal, develop comparative analysis that draw from close readings of the texts, and focus on a strand of thought that grows cultural and historical perspective in relation to intellectual traditions, creative endeavors, and intercultural understandings. Satisfies: any one of the CH Foundational Studies. Offered Summer
