In the Marine & Environmental Sciences, our programs address the most pressing questions of the 21st century relating to marine biology, environmental science, earth science, and climate science.
Through interdisciplinary and integrated studies, undergraduate and graduate students engage in cutting edge research, expand skills through field study, and directly experience natural processes in the pristine environment of Alaska as well as other locations around the globe.
Across all of the Marine & Environmental Science Programs, graduates:
- Gain knowledge in a diverse array of natural and management sciences
- Complete significant environmental projects including class exercises, internships, and field experiences, culminating in a senior project or master’s thesis
- Possess technical abilities in research, statistics, GIS, as well as field and laboratory practices to address contemporary environmental and natural resource issues
